Speaking more and Prevention, demand is not uncommon :
"We can submit to genetic tests to assess our risk of developing breast cancer or ovarian ?".
The answer, for me it is always the same: “Always weigh the pros and cons of everything that is done!”.

Genetic tests can help :

-KNOW THE ACTUAL RISK
-PREPARING FOR AN ADEQUATE PREVENTIVE STRATEGY BUT ALSO PERSONALIZED
-UNDERGO A CONTROL PROGRAMS MORE 'INTENSIVE
-FORNIORE INFORMATION ALSO TO FAMILY , SHARING THE RESULTS OF THE TEST

In contrast, however:

-KNOW THAT THERE IS A WAY TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY 'OF DEVELOPING CANCER
-WHEN PREPARING GENETICS , KNOW, WOULD GO A MEETING CAN ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
-IF INSTEAD OF TEST NEGATIVE, MAY RISE TO SOME SECURITY TO BE IMMUNE, NOT REAL, WHY 'THE RISK WOULD BE THE SAME AS THAT OF THE GENERAL POPULATION.

In conclusion: any advice on what to do must be assessed in relation to the individual, especially in view of his personality and psyche, and also in the assessment of the family context in which he lives: know to be predisposed to breast cancer must be an advantage and not a disadvantage!
